Karyna's New Things

I wanted to post an entry about some of Karyna's newest accomplishments. She's at such a fun age, learning so many new things! It's amazing how fast she is learning to talk. She says a new sentence every day. I'm always surprised at what she says next. Here's a list of some of the things she's been learning and some of her most used phrases.

• Karyna wants to be so independent now. When she wants to do something herself, she always says, "Me do it." Then when she does it, she proudly says, "I did it," or "I got it."
• This is one of the funniest things Karyna says. She can say the name of all the popular Disney princesses, but for some reason has a hard time with Snow White's name. When she tries to say it, she says, "snot!"
• She is so interested in letters. About three months ago she first started noticing the letters on my Michigan State t-shirts and sweatshirt. Go Spartans! She quickly learned those letters. Now she knows all the letters of the alphabet! Although sometimes she forgets what the names of the letters are, and I have to help her. The other day I heard her singing parts of the alphabet song! It was so cute.
  
• She can count to ten, and almost twenty. She usually skips a few numbers. She loves to count with me at meal time when I try to get Nayeli to drink her milk! She even starts counting for herself when she drinks her milk!
• Some times at dinner she'll wave to each of us and say, "Bye mommy, bye daddy, bye Yedi -she still calls her Yedi even though she can say Nayeli. Then she closes her eyes. It's so cute!
• She loves to dance to music. She'll run around the living room when I'm playing music and say, "I'm dancing."
• Her favorite phrase when she doesn't want to do something is "I don't wanna__."
• Karyna's favorite food is applesauce, which is a change from when she was a baby. At every meal she'll usually say, "How about applesauce."
• She loves to sing a nursery song from church called Follow the Prophet. She can sing the chorus pretty well. It goes something like this,"Follow prophet, don't go straight." It should be, "Follow the prophet don't go a stray." She's almost got it!
• One time she surprised me when she came in the room and said, "What's going on?" She's heard me say that many times when Nayeli and Karyna are fighting or someone is crying.
• Her favorite activity is definitely reading books. She always bringing me books and saying, "sit mommy lap." She loves to quiz me and say, "What's that?" Then before I can respond, she'll tell me the answer.
• Karyna knows all her animal sounds including dog; cat; bunny -she says hop, hop; sheep; pig; cow; duck; chicken; rooster; bird; lion; monkey -she also curls her arm and scratches her armpits; frog; tiger; bear; snake; chick; donkey; goat; elephant -she lifts her arm and imitates the trunk; and horse.
  

I know I'm forgetting a lot more of the things I heard her say lately. When I remember I'll post them later.
